Dear friends,
I’ve been quiet on this Substack home front. What I thought life would look like 4 months postpartum is (not shockingly) not what life is in reality… its more beautiful, and also so much more messy. I’m pretty much always tired, and also weirdly content to not change a thing— except speeding up my son’s teething process and maybe having him actually take to bottle feeding? But yes…
I gave birth to a boy! Ren! He’s perfect! He’s fun! He’s growing so fast!
I have a million and one things to write about motherhood, but in the limited windows where I may have time to write, I come up blank. I am constantly feeling one way about things one day, and then everything flips the next day. I think I understand a pattern Ren has and feel like we’ve found a groove, then things shift just as quickly and I’m back at square one with learning. It’s remarkable how much changes week to week, to a point where as his primary caregiver, I’m just along for the ride and trying to keep up. I haven’t made it to an online or in person class for myself, and there have been multiple days I haven’t showered, though I have been good about brushing and flossing my teeth (don’t worry, we’re doing great here!).
And so I am hoping to come back more fully with my writings and teachings in September, when I’ll have a little bit more support during the week. We’re giving “back to school” energy!
Buttttt, I miss teaching and I have a retreat with Christopher Golden at the beginning of September in Ischia. Which means I should probably try and remind myself how to plan and guide a class before then. So, let’s do it :)
THIS WEDNESDAY, July 31st 12pm-1pm ET
Open Level Zoom Yoga, Free for all— share with a friend :) Recording of the class will be shared with paid subscribers, as per usual!

I hope to write up something extra special (maybe my crazy birth story if I can remember it at this point?!) for you all, but until then, check out this sweet journal I wrote for Misha & Puff. Lots of cute photos of Ren wearing their very cute line of clothes.
Ok, that’s all for now. Hope to see you Wednesday,
xx CK
Thank you for the lovely post. Yes motherhood is wonderful but it changes everything ... and yes the first 4 months is a challenge. At the same time it's such a gratifying challenge. All the firsts are the best and so joyful to observe it. Enjoy it! Thank for the invite to Wednesday class. I teach at that time so unless my student cancels I won't be able to join you. Lot's of LOVE for all three of you. Ten looks like Ian in the photos
I still love watching the recordings of previous classes! Thank you so much for your offerings, Chloe! :)
